DMACC's Gage Miller named ICCAC Athlete of the Week
  • Miller threw a complete game shutout against NOCE on Feb. 17
  • Miller threw 82 pitches, allowing two hits and striking out four batters
  • Miller is 1-1 with a 2.38 earned run average this season

 

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Gage Miller the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Baseball for the week of February 16 to 22.

 

Miller, a sophomore from Mandan, N.D., is being honored by the conference for the first time this season and he is one of two members of the DMACC baseball team to be honored by the conference this season.

 

Sophomore Adam Leininger of Fargo, N.D., was honored for his hitting the week of Feb. 2 to 8.

 

Miller pitched a complete game in a 6-0 win over Northern Oklahoma College-Enid (NOCE) Feb. 17 at Enid, Okla. He threw 82 pitches over seven innings, allowing two hits and striking out four batters.

 

Miller is 1-1 with a 2.38 earned run average this season. He has thrown 11 and a third innings, allowing three runs on nine hits. He has struck out 11 batters and has not issued a base on balls. Miller is averaging 8.74 strikeouts per nine innings and is averaging .79 hits and walks per inning.

The DMACC baseball team is 5-7 this season. The Bears will face Butler Community College (BCC) in doubleheaders Feb. 27 and 28 at El Dorado, Kan
