- Freshman Zach Wilson leads DMACC with a 20th-place finish
- Sophomore Caleb Ham and freshman Luke Linde are 24th and 25th respectively
- Freshman Ryan Schmierer, sophomore Lari Hakanen and freshman Joey Currans finish 32nd, 33rd and 43rd respectively
The DMACC men's golf team came home with a fourth-place finish in the Blackhawk Spring Invitational April 3 and 4 at Pinnacle Country Club in Milan, Ill.
The Bears posted a 36-hole score of 623 on 18-hole rounds of 315 and 308. Parkland College (PC) took the team championship with an 11-over-par 587 and Illinois Central College (ICC) was second at 593.
ICC's Trey Boecker took medalist honors with a one-under-par 143. Boecker posted rounds of 70 and 73.
Freshman Zach Wilson of Ames led DMACC with a 20th place finish. Wilson shot rounds of 81 and 73 for a two-day total of 154. Sophomore Caleb Ham of Hudson finished 24th with a 36-hole score of 155 and freshman Luke Linde of Winterset was 25th, also posting a 155. Ham and Linde turned in identical rounds of 77 and 78.
Rounding out DMACC's performance were freshman Ryan Schmierer of North Liberty, sophomore Lari Hakanen of Kavara, Finland, and freshman Joey Currans of Ames. Schmierer finished in 32nd place with a two-day total of 158 on rounds of 81 and 77. Hakanen matched Schmierer's 158 on rounds of 83 and 75 and finished in 33rd place. Currans shot rounds of 80 and 81 for a 161 total and placed 43rd.
The DMACC men's golf team will play in the Central College Dutch Shootout April 8 at Bos Landen Golf Course in Pella.
