The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Luke Linde the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Division II Men's Golf for the Week of April 13 to 19.
Linde, a sophomore from Winterset, is being honored by the conference for the first time this season and he is one of two members of the DMACC men's golf team to have been honored by the conference this spring. Freshman Grady Sigrist of Norwalk was honored the week of March 30 to April 5.
Linde tied for eighth place in the individual competition in the Deere Hawk Classic April 16 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. He posted a 1-over-par 71 in helping the Bears to a fifth-place finish in the team competition.
Linde began his round with two birdies in the first four holes, then suffered through a few bogeys on the back nine before getting a clutch birdie on the 17th hole to secure eighth place.
Linde has finished eighth or better in four of five tournaments this spring, helping DMACC to three team championships. He took medalist honors with a 1-under-par 143 in leading the Bears to the team championship in the Hannibal LaGrange Spring Invite March 23 and 24 at Hannibal, Mo., and tied for 21st place in the Cougar Shootout March 30 at Normal, Ill., shooting rounds of 76 and 78 for a 12-over-par 154 total. The Bears also won the team championship in that event.
Linde took medalist honors with a 4-under-par 68 and led DMACC to the title in the DMACC Spring Invitational April 6 at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone and tied for fifth in the Iowa Central Spring Invitational April 10 and 11 at Fort Dodge. Linde shot rounds of 73 and 69 over the par 71 layout for a 36-hole score of 142. DMACC placed fifth in the team standings.
