DMACC men's track & field team runs in Cyclone Open
  • Sophomore Eli Page finishes sixth in the men's 3000-meter run
  • Freshman Sam Mora places 18th in the men's mile run
  • Freshman Gabe List is 44th in the men's 800-meter run

 

Five members of the DMACC men's track & field team competed in the Cyclone Open February 6 at Ames.

 

Sophomores Eli Page of Vinton and freshmen Sam Mora of Grimes, Parker Gooding of Marshalltown, Owen Ament of Colfax and Gabe List of Watertown, S.D. represented the Bears in the event.

 

Page had DMACC's top finish, placing sixth in the men's 3000-meter run with a time of 8 minutes, 30.29 seconds. Annasse Mahboub, running unattached, won the race with a time of 8:10.18.

 

Mora, Gooding and Ament were 18th, 37th and 44th respectively in the men's mile run. Mora's time was 4;18.65, Gooding crossed the finish line in 4:42.79 and Ament's time was 5:15.13. Cody Larson of South Dakota State (SDS) took the championship with a time of 4:01.82.

 

List was 44th in the men's 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:00.62. Said Rifi Loutfi of Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) took the race with a time of 1:48.84.

 

The DMACC men's track & field team will compete in the Region 11 Championships Feb. 20 and 21 at Storm Lake.
