Eight members of the DMACC men's track & field team competed in a pair of meets April 10 and 11.
Sophomores Eli Page of Vinton and Zack Stoermer of Des Moines and freshmen Sam Mora of Grimes, Joseph Lawry of Waukee and Christian Choate of Martensdale ran in the Jim Duncan Invitational April 10 at Des Moines and sophomore Hunter Landphair of Adel and freshmen Owen Ament of Colfax and Gabe List of Watertown, S.D. competed in the Mustang Distance Carnival April 11 at Cedar Rapids.
Mora topped DMACC's performance with a first-place finish in the men's 1500-meter run, crossing the finish line with a time of 3 minutes, 54.56 seconds. Stoermer finished ninth in 4:00.40.
Page of Vinton ran in a men's 1500-meter run invitational and finished fourth in 3:55.50. Titus Winders of Minnesota Distance Elite (MDE) took the race with a time of 3:51.53.
Other DMACC results saw Lawry and Choate place ninth and 18th respectively in the men's 5000-meter run. Lawry's time was 15:18.95 and Choate crossed the finish line in 15:37.29. Daghyn True of Drake University (DU) won the event in 14:41.44.
Ament ran in the men's 1500-meter run and the men's 800-meter run at the Mustang Distance Carnival, finishing 12th and 37th respectively. His time in the 1500 was 4:40.36 and his time in the 800 was 2:12.86. Jack Stamp of Mount Mercy University (MMU) was the 1500-meter champion with a time of 4:08.39.
List and Landphair joined Ament in the 800-meter run, finishing 12th and 20th respectively. List's time was 2:01.41 and Landphair posted a time of 2:04.62. Elijah House of St. Ambrose University (SAU) won the race with a time of 1:54.83.
The DMACC men's track & field team is scheduled to run in the Meet of Champions April 17 and 18 at Rock Island, Ill.
