DMACC men's cross country team finishes third in Dutch Open

 

Sophomores Eli Page of Vinton and Zack Stoermer of Des Moines finished seventh and ninth respectively in leading the DMACC men's cross country team to a third-place finish in the Dutch Open September 26th at the Central College Cross Country Course in Pella.

 

Page posted a time of 26 minutes, 48 seconds over the 8K course and Stoermer crossed tine finish line in 27:12 as the Bears scored 66 points in finishing behind Central College (CC) and Simpson College (SC). CC took the team championship with 35 points and SC scored 47 points in finishing second. Grinnell College (GC) was fourth with 85 points.

 

Other DMACC results saw freshman Christian Choate of Martensdale post a time of 27:12 in finishing just behind Stoermer and sophomore Elijah Blix of Vinton was 12th in 27:23.

 

DMACC freshman Dylan Jones of Milford and sophomore Hunter Landphair of Adel were 28th and 33rd respectively. Jones' time was 28:18 and Landphair crossed the finish line in 28:44.

James Johnson of SC won medalist honors with a time of 25:57.

 

The DMACC men's cross country team will run in the Indian Hills Invitational Sept. 10 at Cedar Creek Golf Course in Ottumwa.
