The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women's golf team remained in 16th place following the second round of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's National Championship at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.
The Bears turned in a score of 361 on May 15 to go with an opening round 365 for a 36-hole score of 726. Daytona State College (DSC) leads the tournament with a 578 after posting a 289 in the second round. DSC also opened the tournament with a 289.
DSC's Grace St-Germain is the individual leader with a 36-hole total of three-under-par 141. St-Germain shot 70 in the second round to go with a 71 in the first round.
Sophomore Jaime Bellingham of Auckland, New Zealand, is DMACC's top scorer at 173 after 36 holes. Bellingham shot 86 in the second round and is tied for 48th place.
Other DMACC second-round scores include an 85 by sophomore Kortney Orr of Columbus Junction, a 96 by freshman Allison Nichols of Ogden and a 94 by freshman Alison Schweers of Carroll. Orr is tied for 58th place with a 36-hole score of 176. Nichols is tied for 75th with a two-day total of 186 and Schweers is tied for 84th with a 191 total.
