Freshman Megan Wilde of Somerset, England, tied for medalist honors and led the DMACC women's golf team to its second consecutive North Central District championship April 28 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.
The Bears, who shot 328 in the first round, posted a 337 in the second round for a 36-hole score of 665, 12 strokes better than runner-up North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC). The Trojans, who trailed DMACC by 13 strokes after the first round, shot 336 in the second round for 677 total. Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) finished third with 698 strokes.
With the win, DMACC received an automatic bid to the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Women's Golf Championship for the second consecutive year. NIACC received an automatic bid as well.
Wilde shared medalist honors with NIACC's Meghan DeLong with 36-hole scores of 157. Both shot 5-over-par 77 in the first round and 80 in the second round.
DMACC freshman Hannah Kenkel of Waukee finished third with a 158. Kenkel took medalist honors in the first round with a 77 and posted an 82 in the second round for a two-day total of 158.
Other DMACC results included a tie for 10th from freshman Isabella Ross of Ankeny and a tie for 12th by sophomore Haley Loonan of Gilbert and freshman Sydney Helgeson of Garner.
Ross shot an 89 in the second round to go with an 86 in the first round for a 36-hole score of 175. Loonan and Helgeson were two strokes back at 177. Loonan had rounds of 90 and 87 and Helgeson posted scores of 88 and 89.
The 2026 NJCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship will be played May 12 to 15 at Ol'Colony Golf Course in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
