DMACC's Ava Manning and Jaycie Vohs compete in NJCAA track & field championships
  • Manning places 12th in the women's mile run and 15th in the 3000-meter run
  • Vohs finishes 22nd in the women's 3000-meter run
  • The meet ends the indoor season for the DMACC women's track & field team

 

Two members of the DMACC women's track & field team competed in the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships March 6 and 7 at Washburn University in Topeka, Kan.

 

Sophomore Ava Manning of Des Moines ran in the women's mile and the women's 3000-meter run, finishing 12th and 15th respectively. Her time in the mile was 5 minutes, 12.52 seconds and she posted a time of 10:22.14 in the 3000-meter run.

 

Vohs posted a time of 10:48.24 in the 3000-meter run, good for 22nd place.

 

Juliana Sakat of Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) won both events. Her time in the mile was 4:49.27 and she turned in a time of 9:32.34 in winning the 3000-meter run.

 

The meet closed out the indoor season for the DMACC women's track & field team.
