DMACC men's golf team finishes ninth in NJCAA DII Fall Preview

 

The DMACC men's golf team opened the 2025-26 fall season with a ninth-place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DII Fall Preview September 2 and 3 at Swan Lake Golf Resort in Plymouth, Ind.

 

The Bears shot rounds of 298, 287 and 298 over the par 72 layout for a 54-hole score of 883, 19 over par. Heartland Community College (HCC) took the team championship with 851 strokes and Kirkwood Community College (KCC), a DMACC rival in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), finished second with 864 strokes.

 

Freshman Grady Sigrist of Norwalk led DMACC with a tie for eighth place in the individual competition. Sigrist was around par all 54 holes, opening with a 2-under 70 and adding a 71 and a 74 for three round total of 214, two-under-par.

 

Sophomore Luke Linde of Winterset came away with a tie for 35th place on rounds of 79, 68 and 75 for a 54-hole total of 222 and freshmen Noah Moberg of Grimes and Archie Nelson of Albert Lea, Minn., tied for 37th and 40th respectively. Moberg shot scores of 74, 74 and 75 for a 223 and Nelson posted rounds of 75, 74, 75 to finish with 224 strokes.

 

Sophomore Ryan Schmierer of North Liberty rounded out DMACC's performance with a tie for 62nd. Schmierer turned in rounds of 79, 77 and 76 for a 54-hole score of 232.

 

DMACC freshman Brock Wilson of Peosta competed in the individual portion of the tournament and tied for 89th place. He shot rounds of 83, 83, 78 for a 54-hole score of 244.

 

Gabriele Bravin of HCC took tournament medalist honors with a 12-under-par 204. Bravin posted rounds of 72, 69 and 63.

 

The DMACC men's golf team will play in the ICCAC Fall Kickoff Sept. 8 at the Fort Dodge Country Club in Fort Dodge.
