- Freshman Joseph Lawry leads DMACC with a fourth-place finish in the men's 3000-meter run
- Freshman Gabe List finishes ninth in the men's 1000-meter run
- Four DMACC runners will compete in the distance medley relay at the national meet
Four members of the DMACC men's track & field team, freshman Joseph Lawry of Waukee, freshman Gabe List of Watertown, S.D., sophomore Hunter Landphair of Adel and freshman Owen Ament of Colfax, represented the Bears in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Indoor Track & Field Championships February 20 and 21 at Storm Lake.
Lawry came away with DMACC's best finish, taking fourth place in the men's 3000-meter run with a time of 8 minutes, 52.01 seconds.
List was ninth in the men's 1000-meter run, turning in a time of 2:39.63. Landphair and Ament both finished 16th in the respective events. Landphair was 16th in the men's 400-meter dash, finishing in :54.47 and Ament was 16th in the men's 800-meter run, turning in a time of 2:19.65.
List, freshman Sam Mora of Grimes and sophomores Zack Stoermer of Des Moines and Eli Page of Vinton will run in the distance medley relay in the NJCAA Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships March 6 and 7 at Washburn University in Topeka, Kan. List will run the 400-meter leg of the race, Stoermer will run the 800-meter leg and Mora and Page will run the 1200-meter leg and the 1600-meter leg respectively.
