- Freshman Brooklyn Lyftogt leads DMACC with 12 kills
- Sophomore Sydney Anderson contributes 21 assists

Freshman Brooklyn Lyftogt of Van Meter had 12 kills and sophomore Reagan Wheeler of Cedar Falls added 11 as the DMACC volleyball team took a 3-1 decision from Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) October 21 at Estherville.
The Bears, ranked 18th in this week's Division II poll from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), won by set scores of 25-20, 25-9, 21-25, 25-22 to improve to 21-13 overall and 7-3 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).
Lyftogt hit .257, getting her 12 kills from 35 attacks with three hitting errors. Wheeler came away with a .333 hitting percentage as her 11 kills came from 27 attacks with two hitting errors. As a team, DMACC hit .213, getting 43 kills from 141 attacks with 13 hitting errors.
Sophomore Sydney Anderson of Marshalltown topped the Bears in assists with 21 and sophomore Lauren Sandvold of Cedar Falls contributed four ace serves.
Freshman Indy Johnson of Clarion led four players in double figures in digs with 23. Sandvold came away with 22 and freshman Kyleigh Turks of Franklin, Tenn., and Anderson had 13 and 10 respectively.
Sophomore Danica Wrage of Waterloo finished with six blocks, including five block assists and sophomore Emma Liechti of Ankeny also had six blocks, including four block assists.
The DMACC volleyball team closes out the regular season with three consecutive matches inside the DMACC gymnasium. That begins with an ICCAC matchup against Southwestern Community College (SECC) on Oct. 23. The Spartans are 3-32 overall and 0-10 in the ICCAC. Match time is 7 p.m.
