The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named DMACC's Ava Manning the ICCAC Athlete of the Week for Women's Cross Country for the week of September 8 to 14.
Manning, a sophomore from Des Moines, is the first member of the DMACC women's cross country team to be honored by the conference this season.
Manning took medalist honors in the Trent Smith Invitational Sept. 13 at Mason City, posting a time of 19 minutes, 43 seconds over the 5K course. She led the Bears to a second-place finish behind Wartburg College (WC) in the team standings.
Manning's time was her personal best for that distance and would have placed her in the top five at the Region 11 Championships in 2024. Her best finish in women's cross country meets as a freshman was 26th.
The DMACC women's cross country team will run in the Dutch Open Sept. 26 at Pella.
