Sophomore Ava Manning of Des Moines earned All-American honors with a 17th-place finish and led the DMACC women's cross country team to an eighth-place finish in the team standings in the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Women's Cross Country Championship November 8 at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
Manning posted a time of 20 minutes over the 5K course in finishing eighth and was named a second-team All-American.
Mesa (Ariz.) Community College (MCC) took the team championship with 54 points and Paradise Valley (Ariz.) Community College (PVCC) was second with 87 points. DMACC scored 303 points in finishing eighth. The Bears trailed seventh-place Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) by 18 points and finished four points ahead of Northwest Arkansas Community College (NWACC).
Arianna Mason of PVCC took medalist honors with a time of 18:43.
The field included 321 runners who battled snow and slush throughout the course.
Other DMACC results includes a 51st-place finish by sophomore Dakota Tromblay of Ogden. Freshman Mariah Falkena of Dunlap was 56th and sophomore Jaycie Vohs of Galva was 65th. DMACC freshmen Cece Thompson of Clive and Isabella Brinson of Ankeny rounded out DMACC's performance, finishing 114th and 251st respectively.
Tromblay's time was 21:11. Falkena posted a time of 21:18 and Vohs crossed the finish line in 21:29. Thompson and Brinson turned in times of 22:25 and 26:22 respectively.
The meet closed out the 2025 season for the DMACC women's cross country team.
